FRIDAY'S FAB $15: H&M HOME PART II
This blog can't all be babies and ultrasound photos now can it? It's been a while since I've done Friday Fab $15 but I'm resurrecting it! If you're not familiar with it, on Fridays I post fabulous finds for under $15. I love to decorate on a budget and am constantly scouring the internet and stores for good deals. For the past year or so I've been loving the H&M home decor and have been filling our new house with little bits from them here and there. We recently got their linen duvet and love it! Although it doesn't fall in the under $15 category it's still a steal compared to other linen bedding sets I've found. Have you had any luck with H&M home goods? If so, share your favorites with me below. Cheers (from my sparkling water in a wine glass) to a happy weekend!

BUILD A BRASSY BAR // FAB $15
One of my favorite 50s revivals has been the bar cart. I don't know, maybe it never really went away but I do love how they are popping up in stores all over the place over the past few years. A few years back I found an old one at a yard sale for $7. It's nothing special, but I always have fun stocking it and styling it. It's the perfect way to display great glassware and to get people gathered around at a party to mix up a cocktail. I dream of someday owning one from Society Social but am loving the new bar cart collection they have going on at Target right now. If you have read this blog for any period of time, you know I'm a sucker for all things gold, brass or copper and these foxy bar-tastic accessories are no exception! All accessories (sadly not the cart!) are under $15. Cheers.
Buy these gems for yourself:
ONE: Bar Cart, $130TWO: Faux Marble Coasters, $15
THREE: Brass Fox Wine Accessory Set, $13
FOUR: Brass Dot Cocktail Decanter, $15
FIVE: Brass Fox Cocktail Shaker, $13

HARVEST MOON // FAB $50 PICKS
Pumpkin-spiced everything // wearing sweaters even though it's still 70 degrees because you feel like you should // the excitement of the holidays being right around the corner // and having a legitimate excuse to eat pizza and drink beer every Sunday and Monday while I casually whine to Kim about how much longer the football game will go. This October I'll even get the treat of going to the Midwest for a brief weekend where I will with no doubt soak up every ounce of that crisp air.
It's so close I can almost feel it! To hold me over until this heat subsides, I've pulled together a collection of some items that have been getting me into the Autumn spirit. Oh, and they are all under $50! We shall call this new series... Fab $50 - obviously!
What sends you over the (harvest) moon about this time of the year? (Pssst. I'm obsessed with the Poolside version of Harvest Moon - it was the theme song to my summer.)
My Fab $50 picks include:
1. Love this dress on Etsy. Pair it with a cute scarf and it would be perfect-o for a San Diego Autmn.
2. Simplistic leather ring designed by Jet van Dril via byAprilandMay.
3. A mug that is cute AND useful by Yield Design.
4. Simple cape from She Inside. Ordered this beauty last week and can't wait until she arrives!
5. Classic & stylish pair of ankle boots from Target.
6. Hey, your couch needs to feel like it's Fall too. I think this kilim pillow on eBay would do the trick.
7. I'm in the major mood for a house re-decoration party. This hexagon hook from Urban Outfitters would definitely be a good addition to our guest bathroom.

FRIDAY'S FAB $15 // LET'S PICNIC, SHALL WE?
A few weeks ago, while I was home in Minnesota for my bridal shower, my future mother-in-law gave me one of the most thoughtful gifts I've ever received - a picnic set. It was a personalized tote bag with every picnic essential you could imagine. From a tablecloth and napkins to a wine bottle opener and poo bags for Otis, it had it all. It got me thinking about how little Kim and I take advantage of the gorgeous weather we live in and all the city parks that San Diego offers. I now have the equipment to make regular picnics happen and I plan to do just that!
So in honor of spring finally arriving in town (sorry Midwest, I'm sure Mr. Spring is on his way!), I've come up with a Fab $15 collection of picnic must-haves.
Sources:
1 // Unbreakable wine glasses by Govino at Pigment, I received these from my aunt for my shower and they are so fabulous for summer! They are an unbreakable wine glass that won't break the "no glass" rule of most parks and beaches (whatever you pour in them might though!). They are so thin that they feel like fancy wine glasses! My niece even tested them out by dropping them as she stood on the counter and really, they don't shatter. ($13)
2 // Picnic tablecloth at Amazon: Something easy-to-clean that you can spread yourself and your food out on. ($5)
3 // Picnic basket at Amazon: A good old-fashioned picnic basket to carry all your goodies to the park in. ($14)
4 // Non-glass dinnerware at Towsure: I'm currently obsessed with anything enamel. Love these plates and was so shocked to see how affordable they were - perfect for a picnic and good for the environment! ($3)

FRIDAY'S FAB $15 // IKEA GEMS
Ikea, I love you. I swear each year their designs keep getting better and better. For this week's Fab $15 I've selected four picks from their online store at prices so low you can get them all!
My latest home decor love has been this boldly patterned pillow cover (#4), which my couch is currently rocking. It's a really thick material and is easily washable. I've gotten so many compliments on it and love the reaction on people's faces when I mention it was a $10 Ikea score.
I also think I need to go get these whiskey glasses (#1) for Kim - he always has a new whiskey cocktail up his sleeve. I'm a chronic glass breaker, so at $2 you can't go wrong with these vintage-lookalikes.
Love cacti but don't live near the desert? You can buy these cuties (#3) for only $3 at your local Ikea!
And finally, I don't know what I would actually do with these bottles, but boy are they pretty! Might need to buy a new perfume and fill up the pink one with it. How fancy I would feel!
See more of my Fab $15 posts here. Have a wonderful springy weekend!

FRIDAY'S FAB $15 // POPS OF SPRING
Hey, hey! What's that I smell? SPRING is in the air! Or more like summer if you are in So. Cal this week...
Loving that things are heating up this weekend around here and makes me get an itch for spring weather and spring clothes. All my favorite stores are starting to whip out their lighter fabrics and brighter colors which always makes me happy. Pastels and neon colors are bound to make anyone at least a tiny big more cheerful.
I stopped by Forever21 this week for the first time in a looong time and actually found quite a lot of spring goodies! I'm always hesitant to buy anything too trendy but for the prices Forever21 offers, it's easy to try them out. Even if they aren't cool by May, who cares! You only spent a few bucks anyhoo.
How's the weather in your neck of the woods? Hope everyone is starting to crawl out of those winter cocoons - I know I'm trying.
Here are four fun and on-trend accessory finds from Forever21 - all with a price point under $15. Neon purse..would you dare?

FRIDAY'S FAB $15 // WEST ELM MARKET II
Hey guess what?! We made it to Friday! I actually had one of the shortest feeling weeks in my life this week because my mom was here and the time wizzed by. I'll be sharing pictures from her trip with you sometime next week.
A few months back, when West Elm first launched their Market line, I shared my under $15 picks with you. Well, they just keep adding new goodies every week and it's once again time to share my favorites with this week's Fab $15! Everything in the Market line is timeless, quality (from what I've experienced) and pretty. What would be your picks? Share with me!

FRIDAY'S FAB $15 // MAXI SKIRTS
I found these skirts from eBay on Pinterest this week and am in love! Starting at under $15 (price goes up for the longer you want the under liner), there are 25 color choices and as a bonus for tall gals, you can add length for no charge! I ordered the "golden" color and am excited to get it. It's one size-fits-all so I'll let you all know how it fits and looks when I get it. For the price of dinner, you can't really go wrong getting one though. Gotta love a good maxi skirt.
You can order one for yourself here.

FAB $15 // IPHONE CASES
The same iPhone cover has been on my phone for way too long now. It's in need of a desperate facelift. With so many cute iPhone covers and skins out there these days - why not change them up more? Aren't they the accessory people see the most? Here are four cute picks that I found that I may need to put on my sad looking phone.

FAB $15 // LET'S CUT THE CHEESE
My obsession with cheese is nothing new. When you grow up in the Midwest, cheese basically is a food group. I would never dare eat my potatoes, pretzels and even veggies with a little bit of the yummy stuff. I never knew that cheese curds and mozzarella sticks weren't on every menu in America until I moved to California and was sorely disappointed when the craving hit. Luckily a Wisconsiner quickly befriended me and saved the day with what seemed like weekly orders of cheese curds from her family's Wisconsin cheese shop - thank you Sunny!
Luckily though, the lack of cheese curds and other deep friend varieties led me to discover new versions that I never knew existed - I would eat burrata on everything if that was possible.
Anyways, the last few years I've been pretty obsessed with making delicious cheese boards and love trying new combinations. If a board has (in addition to some yummy cheeses) olives, apples, nuts and honey I'm pretty set. I saw this post a while back on A Cup of Jo blog that explains how to make the perfect cheese board if you need a little inspiration.
All of the above "cheesy accessories" can be found for under $15. Also if you are ever in San Diego and looking for a little of the good stuff, stop by Venissimo - great service and choices - just not a great smell :)
CHEESE-RS!

FAB $15 // PIGMENT SAN DIEGO
Happy Friday! I think three-day work weeks should happen more often, eh? Now that the holidays have come and gone and a fresh new year is here, I'm hoping to get a little more consistent with posting on here.
I'm so excited about this week's Fab $15 - they are four of my picks (always under $15) from one of my favorite shops in San Diego, Pigment. Located in North Park, it always has so many fun things to look at and buy - their terrariums are to-die-for and they carry all the supplies to make one for yourself on the spot. If you are from out of town, have no fear because they also have an online shop which is where all the items above can be found. I have a slight obsession with Falcon Enamelware and Mast Brothers Chocolate right now and love that they carry fun/quality lines like those.
Cheers to a good weekend!
Treat yourself to my picks:
1 // Mast Brothers Chocolate Bar, $10
2 // Citrus Stork Scissors, $11
3 // Falcon Enamelware Mug, $12.50
4 // Edison Manufacturing Co. Leather Key Cover, $12

FAB $15 // NEW YEAR'S EVE ESSENTIALS
Can't believe that 2012 has come and gone. It's always exciting for me to anticipate a new year but at the same time, it makes me sad to realize how fast the time flies. I have a feeling that 2013 is going to be a pretty special (and hectic!) one. Wedding year, here we go!
This week's Fab $15 includes some NYE essentials - sparkles, tights and loud lipstick! What are your NYE must-haves?
Still not sure what my plans entail, but I'll be sure to share when I do. Here here! See you all next year.
xo,
Marit

FRIDAY'S FAB $15 // LAST MINUTE STOCKING STUFFERS
As we all know, there are only three days left until Christmas! I'm starting to feel the mayhem that comes along with waiting too long to get presents, bake cookies and plan Christmas dinner. All of which I hope to accomplish this weekend..fingers crossed.
Stocking stuffers are something I always forget to buy and they always end up being last minute picks. Sounds familiar? Have no fear! I've selected four fun stocking stuffers, all which can be found at popular stores in the U.S. and all cost under $15.
I hope everyone has a wonderful and merry Christmas vacation - however long it may be! This year, I will be making my first Christmas dinner for friends, taking advantage of 65 degree weather in December and hopefully doing lots of family FaceTime! It's going to be hard not being with family this year but I hope to make new memories and start some of our own holiday traditions while were at it. Cheers and Feliz Navidad!
Stocking Stuffers (from top left, clockwise):
- Polka Dot Pouch, Nordstrom
- Striped Scarf, Forever21
- Birch Straws, Anthropologie
- Salted Carmel Candle, Target

FAB $15 // HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE FOR THE LITTLE LADIES
Can I just say how fast this holiday season is flying by this year? Can I also say that I'm sorry for my lack of posting lately and that this post didn't get out on Friday like it was supposed to?
Life has been crazy and between my trip to Maine (which I promise I'll be posting pictures of soon), work and Christmas coming in a few days, I just haven't had the time. I do hope to get back in the swing of it more in the new year though and have some really fun posts in the works!
This week's Holiday Gift Guide features four fun gifts, all under $15 for the little ladies in your life. Honestly, if those headbands and sweater fit me, I'd absolutely be wearing them right now!

FRIDAY'S FAB $15 // MANLY GIFTS
Is it just me, or are guys impossible to shop for? Because of this, I always find myself buying the same ol' staples for my dad, brother and fiance - ties, shirts and gimmicky electronics that they will never use. This week I've curated a group of gifts that I think any guy would love in their stockings this year, all while staying oh-so-very manly ;)
1 // Ninja Wasabi Soap for Dangerous Men, by ElixrSoap on Etsy, $5
2 // Rustic Beer Opener, by Areaware, $14
3 // Wood iPhone Skin, by TreeShell on Etsy, $13
4 // Gun Powder Candle, by Man-Cans $9.50

FAB $15 GIFT GUIDE // TARGET HOME
Target never lets me down...except for when I check out and pay their $200 cover charge. Either way, they have been so ON lately, especially with their home goods. I'm currently loving their new Threshold line and all the new Christmas items are charming as ever.
In the spirit of giving (and saving a little money at the same time) I've created this week's Holiday Gift Guide around Target goodies and each can be found for $15 or under. You can now check hostess gifts off that list!

FRIDAY'S FAB $15 // HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE FOR HER
You guys! It's officially the holiday season. Let's call it. While I was watching TV last night, holiday commercials were playing galore and I got my first little twinge of holiday spirit (or maybe it was just excitement that the political commercials have finally stopped - can we say hallelujah?). Either way, let the holiday blog posts begin. Last year I had such a fun time doing the 12 Days of Christmas posts, but this year you can look forward to weekly gift guides on Fridays, and yes, they will all be under $15!
This week's gift guide is for the girly girl in your life. You know, the one who gets jazzed up to go out but also is oh-so content sitting at home watching a chick flick and eating ice cream - with a koozie, of course!
1. A perfectly coral infinity scarf, Forever 21, $12
2. Yes, that's an ice cream koozie!, Etsy, $15
3. Sparkly headband set, AEO, $12
4. Floral iPhone case, $13, Madewell

FRIDAY'S FAB $15 // WEST ELM MARKET
Presenting this week's Fab $15 - as always, I've hand-picked four items for under $15. West Elm, my favorite store, as many of you know, has just launched a new Market section to their website. It's full of unique garden, kitchen and personal care items like the ones pictured above. The chalkboard pots are such a cute idea and who doesn't love pretty packaged chalk?
Have a happy, healthy and fun weekend y'all!
