WEDDING WEDNESDAY // ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS

In February, Kim and I took a trip up to Point Dume in Malibu for our engagement pictures. Our wonderful photographers, Kimberly and Andre, owners of We Call This Love Photography, were the nicest and oh-so-talented.

I'll be honest - I was a little nervous. I hadn't had professional photos taken since high school and had no idea what to expect. But you know what? We walked away from our photos so excited and had such a good time doing them. Kimberly and Andre made us feel so comfortable and we are so excited to have them along side us on our big day this August. Even if you don't think you want engagement pictures, I highly recommend them because they get you comfortable both in front of the camera and with your photographers.

Below are some of my favorites from the day. You can see more on the We Call This Love Blog. Thanks again guys, we love them and feel so lucky to have had this amazing day captured through your lens.

Oh yeah, Otis was there too!

FRIDAY'S FAB $15 // LET'S PICNIC, SHALL WE?

A few weeks ago, while I was home in Minnesota for my bridal shower, my future mother-in-law gave me one of the most thoughtful gifts I've ever received - a picnic set. It was a personalized tote bag with every picnic essential you could imagine. From a tablecloth and napkins to a wine bottle opener and poo bags for Otis, it had it all. It got me thinking about how little Kim and I take advantage of the gorgeous weather we live in and all the city parks that San Diego offers. I now have the equipment to make regular picnics happen and I plan to do just that!

So in honor of spring finally arriving in town (sorry Midwest, I'm sure Mr. Spring is on his way!), I've come up with a Fab $15 collection of picnic must-haves.

Sources:
1 // Unbreakable wine glasses by Govino at Pigment, I received these from my aunt for my shower and they are so fabulous for summer! They are an unbreakable wine glass that won't break the "no glass" rule of most parks and beaches (whatever you pour in them might though!). They are so thin that they feel like fancy wine glasses! My niece even tested them out by dropping them as she stood on the counter and really, they don't shatter. ($13)

2 // Picnic tablecloth at Amazon: Something easy-to-clean that you can spread yourself and your food out on. ($5)

3 // Picnic basket at Amazon: A good old-fashioned picnic basket to carry all your goodies to the park in. ($14)

4 // Non-glass dinnerware at Towsure: I'm currently obsessed with anything enamel. Love these plates and was so shocked to see how affordable they were - perfect for a picnic and good for the environment! ($3)

See all my other Fab $15 posts here

{Fab $15 is a collection of four fabulous finds from the week, always for under $15.}

THE ANIMAL PRINT SHOP

Have you looked at the beautiful prints The Animal Print Shop carries? The photographer, Sharon Montrose, takes the most wonderful photos of animals and I love the simplicity of them. The baby animal prints would be so adorable on a nursery wall. I think I just might need to get a few for my hallway photo collage that is in the works. Which is your favorite?
