valentine's cake in a jar

Happy almost Valentine's Day! I was feeling the spirit this morning and made these little cuties for some friends. Just whip up a sheet cake and layer 3-4 inch pieces of it it in a jar with the frosting of your choice. I won't lie, I made it with a Funfetti boxed mix. If you know me, you know I have a thing for Funfetti..and it is Saturday... and honestly I'd rather spend my time eating, drinking wine and walking Otis.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday. I just got back from the Golden Hill Farmer's Market where I met up with my friends Ashley and Brian and their little cutie Isla. Happy one year anniversary to them! My friend Nellie also had a beautiful baby girl today, congrats Jan!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and get some much deserved rest.

Cheers.

  1. oh my gosh this looks so easy! I'm kind of scrambling for last minute things to do for valentines day so I'm going to have to steal this idea! Did you use store bought frosting? With as much baking as I do, making frosting is my least favorite thing ever...

  2. Yes, guilty! It was sooo easy. A smaller jar would probably even be better.

  3. Well, look at you all Martha Stewart! ;) Seriously, this is a really cute and yummy idea. The funfetti cake mix just adds to the cute factor.

  4. Haha, Theresa! They may look Martha, but I'm pretty sure Martha would be quite disappointed in the boxed Funfetti factor. Someday....
