SO MANY PLANTS, SO LITTLE SPACE

You know how they say your house turns into a tornado of a mess before your wedding? Well, I recently found out the same is true for the weeks (ok, the month!) following it. While we rented a lot of the items for our big day from Kim's company, we also bought a boat load of vases, candles, vintage accents and plants on our own - all of which are still in boxes scattered throughout our place.

What to do? A garage sale or 100 Layer Cake's Marketplace seems like a perfect way to sell the vases, etc. but I want to utilize the air plants and succulents in our house as much as possible. We seriously have tons. Those pretty little suckers live forever and I'm not willing to throw them out.

I have no more room on the surfaces of our home so am on a serious hunt for hanging vases and orbs to display them in. I came across these beauties (below) on Etsy last week from HRUSKAA. Once the wedding funds replenish themselves, I will definitely be picking up a few of these to hang around the house and keep at least a few of these little wedding momentos alive.

Have you seen any cute ideas for displaying air plants or succulents around the house? Please do share!

THE ANIMAL PRINT SHOP

Have you looked at the beautiful prints The Animal Print Shop carries? The photographer, Sharon Montrose, takes the most wonderful photos of animals and I love the simplicity of them. The baby animal prints would be so adorable on a nursery wall. I think I just might need to get a few for my hallway photo collage that is in the works. Which is your favorite?

A FRESH SWEDISH HOME

Channeling a little bit of my Swedish roots today while daydreaming that I lived in this home featured on Hus & Hem. Love everything about it - the mix of vintage with a little touch of industrial. Now why can't I get my house to look this good? A white canvas makes everything look so bright and fresh. If I could only talk my landlord into letting me paint my floors white... I would. I really really would. Check out more pictures from this home over here (like me, you just might have a hard time reading if if you don't speak Swedish).

A PERFECTLY MAINE HOUSE

As many of you know, back in December Kim and I took a trip out to Maine to visit my sister and her new little family. I shared here about my Maine crush and how I could totally see us living there someday. My sister Krista has immaculate, classic style that exudes that seaside New England vibe. I love her style because it doesn't change - she doesn't stray too far from what she knows works and I wish I had a bit more of that in me. I am way too all over the board in that regard..actually in most regards!

So, I was thrilled when she said I could take pictures of her home to share here on the blog. Every corner of their house is so put together and so them.

More photos to come!

SOUTHWEST INSPIRED LIFE

OUTSIDE // All these images remind me of my first road trip across the US on my way to California. Being in the middle of the desert on the open road is like nothing else.

INSIDE // The southwest design can also be brought into your house. My favorite ways to incorporate the bold patterns are through rugs, pillows and blankets.

ON YOU //  Another option is to incorporate southwestern patterns into your everyday style. Sweaters and scarfs everywhere, at ever price point, can easily be found.

Apology that a lot of these link to Pinterest and not the original source. If anyone has the original source on the Pinterest links, please let me know, thanks!
